The event check-in will be at Hush, located in the Garment House, which is a multi-level entertainment district in the historic Quality Hill area. No special knowledge is needed to have a great time in this workshop. It will be an extraordinary opportunity to learn about Open Spaces artworks throughout Swope Park, using your mind and your body. Harlan Brownlee is a Kennedy Center Teaching Artist, trained in engaging the learning mind through the arts. He is also a specialist in creative movement and dance, and CEO for Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. Mr. Brownlee will lead a bus tour of Open Spaces artworks in Swope Park, guiding conversation and activities to learn and remember the works. Then, the bus will take you to a Swope Park space where he will guide an interpretive workshop in creative movement, based on the artworks.
