The Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group is a chartered branch of The Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH), the founders of “Black History Month.” Each fall, local branches mark the anniversary of ASALH with an annual Founder’s Day program.

Walk the Walk is a fashion show developed by Travis Kelce, Pro Bowl Tight End of the Kansas City Chiefs, to raise funds and awareness for his nonprofit as well as nonprofits he supports (half of all profits will benefit Children's Mercy Hospital). Walk the Walk is about action, and will showcase the great people and organizations that are actively involved in making Kansas City a better place.
