Join our chalk muralists, makers & crafters, food trucks, kids' entertainment, and more as we celebrate the arts in Kansas City.

This event will comprise an in-depth comparative analysis regarding the psychology of plantation politics, which comprises behaviors African-Americans displayed on a plantation and in contemporary corporate America when trying to get by in an environment that rewards socially accommodating versus socially non-accommodating behaviors.

This event will comprise a presentation and dialogue facilitated by Mr. Terrence Frazier, M.B.A., M.H.A., that has taught classes on such topics on the Development of Black Racial Identity by Dr. William Cross; The Development of White Racial Identity by Dr. Janet Helms; Social Identity Development Model by Dr. Bailey Jackson and Dr. Rita Hardiman, in addition to teaching a class entitled, The Brilliance of White Supremacy and White Privilege.
Come celebrate our 20th year of Dance in the Park, the magical dance concert under the stars in beautiful Roanoke Park! On Saturday, September 8th, at 6pm, the celebration will start with a mini creative movement class on stage for any children in the audience who want to participate. Then Kim Shope's Main Street Dancers from Kansas City Young Audiences will showcase original student choreography. Shope with her former studio, “Midtown School of Dance”, was the original inspiration for Dance in the Park and performed at the concert for the first 9 years. There will also be a free Ceili dance class for adults/kids taught by Bridgid Driscoll of The Driscoll School of Irish Dancers, as well as more pre-show fun including a surprise guest. The official 20th Dance in the Park concert will begin at 7pm and will feature Modern, Ballet, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, Cyr Wheel, Bollywood, Irish dance and West African dance. We encourage everyone to arrive early to get a good seat and enjoy the pre-show festivities. Bring blankets/lawn chairs, a picnic, and your whole family (except the furry 4-legged ones--sorry, no pets allowed).

What is a tea festival? Well, in short, it is a day all about tea. Learning about tea, tea preparation, tea culture and history and of course, tons of tea tastings!

The main event, so to speak, is our tea market. All gathered together in one big auditorium will be lots of tea merchants. There will be local Kansas City area merchants as well as vendors from across the Midwest and across the country who will have tea samples for tasting. Also we will have some craftspeople who create tea-related art! All of the vendors on the floor will have at least a 50% focus on tea or tea-related items.
