In numerous communities across Missouri, abuse of prescription drugs has reached epidemic heights, leading to unprecedented rates of drug overdoses and related deaths. Attendees will receive important information on support and treatment options, hear from those in recovery, learn the terminology and new trends. Speakers will discuss how to identify a substance use disorder and highlight the resources available, in addition to ways to engage with people struggling and family members.

This Summer Lecture Series examines the intersection of health, racism, and gentrification as it impact maternal and infant death. We have a crisis in our city, even though it is seldom seen and even less spoken of. Uzazi Village wants to amplify the crisis leading up to our Black Infant Mortality Walk on September 15th and our Annual Gala on October 5th.
