In honor of its fifth induction class, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) has selected five baseball legends to be inducted into its "Hall of Game." The announcement was made during a press conference held at the NLBM today.
The Westport Beer Festival will feature over 80 beers from more than 35 breweries and will include several local craft distilleries. Guests will sample some of the worlds best brews, spirits, and fabulous food while having the opportunity to mingle with principals and brewmasters from each participating brewery and distillery. In addition festival goers will have the oportunity to meet members from this year's Sporting Kansas City team.
What better way to come together than over drinks?! Network and Chill will be a small gathering of a few young professionals doing very interesting things in Kansas City. Rev. Rodney Williams, pastor of Swope Parkway United Christian Church, will facilitate a discussion on the long-lasting effects of racism, and the work that is being done to undo systemic racism in all its forms. We will be having a salad bar for dinner, so bring a dish to share!
The scholarship event is to financially support area students who have been accepted to attend Howard University or is a continuing student at Howard Univesity; graduate or undergraduate status. The Black Repertory Theater of Kansas City will be performing, "Memphis." The musical rendition will be performed on stage featuring many local talents. The Play will start at 7:00. However, a reception will start at 6:00pm. During the reception the scholarship candidates will be present to greet and introduce themselves to guests. Food and drink will be served during the reception hour.

He will talk about his experiences in building multiple businesses and what he has found to be the keys to success. He's also bringing lunch (chicken wings and fish) from Wings Cafe so plan to be comfortable and ready for a real conversation.
