This is the annual state-sponsored MLK celebration presented by Lessie Thompson which occurs at St. James United Methodist Church

Join the Linwood YMCA as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Engage in fun projects and a great discussion about Diversity and inclusion. 

On Monday, January 15th, 2018, volunteers will join City Year's 3,000+ AmeriCorps members at locations across the United States to participate in a day of service. City Year commemorates the Civil Rights Movement and honors the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by celebrating Dr. King's birthday as a "day on, not a day off". In partnership with Northeast High School, City Year has created transformational service projects such as mural and wall painting and service projects just for children. Nearly 300 volunteers from across Kansas City will come together on this day to transform and enhance Northeast High School in an effort to reconnect, transform, uplift, and inspire the students, staff, and community.

Join the Greater Kansas City Morehouse Alums and the I AM KING FOUNDATION for an awesome day of service. We will be doing a complete cleaning of the W.E.B. DuBois Learning Center. The DuBois Learning Center has been offering educational enrichment in the Kansas City community for over 40 years. 
All Regular Scheduled Classes are FREE Today in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
