Now in its 16th year, the Kansas City Improv Festival is proud to be one of the longest running improv festivals in the country. We had the pleasure of hosting one of the very first improv festivals in 1994, and since then have welcomed Del Close,Mick Napier, and TJ Jagodowski. More recently we’ve had Joe Bill, Jill Bernard, SuperEgo, Susan Messing, andKC native Jason Sudeikis on our stages.  


The Library’s annual Off-the-Wall film series, co-presented by The Pitch, presents a Bard-themed batch of films with a slightly offbeat take on William Shakespeare’s plays in Sorta Shakespeare: Offbeat Films Inspired by the Bard. Bring ye olde blankets and folding chairs to the Rooftop Terrace of theCentral Library and enjoy an evening of downtown KC skyline cinema.

This community meditation class will begin with a mini introduction, 101 on seated/laying postures for comfort, and a 20 min guided meditation.

The En Vivo Latino Music Festival comes to the KC Live! Block in the Power & Light District on Sunday, August 21st. En Vivo is a celebration of music, culture and living lively! Enjoy a full day of great DJ's and bands, food and cocktails, games and more! There will be dancing, dining and drinking throughout the day. Presented by Miller Lite and the KC Live! Block.

Our annual Back To School Beer Ice Cream Social is Sunday, August 21st, 6pm. We will offer 4 different beer ice creams made with McCoy's Ginger Shandy, Fruili, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter and Kasteel Donker. Each scoop is $3. Come enjoy some dinner from our new menu and cap the night with some great ice cream! Who says ice cream socials are for kids?
